Alice Springs, NT, AU
Alice Springs is an odd place
So we set out to explore the many different facets of this little big town in the dead center of nowhere.
We’re told, sometimes there’s water here. Sometimes there’s a LOT of water here. Other times, well most times really, not so much
And, of course, we had to sample the local delicacies!
Ok, so yes. Yes we did. We went to a baby kangaroo rescue shelter and a day later a kangaroo was on our plate.
It’s part of the cultural immersion!
And to that we now add
Life achievement unlocked –
Play a didgeridoo!
Then there was the final step to our visit to Alice Springs
We had to visit Uluru (AKA Ayer’s Rock)
Sure would have helped if someone had mentioned that by “in Alice Springs” they actually meant Uluru was
“About a 280 mile, 6 and a half hour drive straight into the middle of freaking nowhere FROM Alice Springs”
Greg and Tiffany are traveling around the world on sailing yachts and keep a video blog of their (mis)adventures. If sailing to Tahiti on a 44 ft sailboat, 3-day delays for wine tastings, getting pooped on by seagulls, opening coconuts with dull machetes, sailing past tornadoes and ukulele Christmas carols are for you, then check them out at www.CoastGuardCouple.com!
